Army E4 Michael Cook of Anchorage is an Afghanistan vet who has troubling 80% spinal injuries. He has a going business in Alaska, broadcasting hockey games and events. He has asked WVFV for a 7 x 12 enclosed trailer that he can customize so he can run his broadcasting without loading and unloading the heavy equipment that causes additional injuries to his back.
Work Vessels for Vets received financial support for the purchase of a $16000 enclosed trailer, customized for broadcasting to accommodate his spinal injuries (including shipping from Seattle to Anchorage) from our partners The Semper Fi Fund.
Since receiving the completed trailer, Mike Cook has travelled to locations around Alaska and is now preparing for a robust ice hockey season. Mike was recently honored with the 2024-2025 North American Hockey Television Broadcaster Production of the Year Award for his quality production for North American Television of the Anchorage Wolverines Hockey games.
Wow! We are so proud to play a part in your new career, Mike Cook!
