Career Army Master Sergeant Walter Byrne of St Albans, VT received $6000 of audio equipment from WVFV to open his Maple City Music store in northern Vermont. Walter was matched with an expert mentor, Rich Martin who owns a highly successful used and new record store Telegraph Autonomous Zone in New London, CT.
MSG Byrne retired from the Army following numerous deployments, eventually resulting in a 100% VA disability rating.
MSG Walter Byrne founded Maple City Music in St Albans, VT to create a healing space for veterans and music lovers to connect. Our mission is to preserve physical music culture while supporting local and veteran artists. He plans to host live sales, offer curated collections, and provide a community-centered store experience that includes listening stations and a coffee area for veterans.
